I work at a computer store that also sells home entertainment devices. On the televisions we display this atrocious Animusic video, which consists of animated, humanoid instruments playing themselves, captured with amateurish, live-recording-mimicking "camera swoops." Anyway.

People are absolutely enthralled by this, for some reason. It is not uncommon to find families huddled together, basking in the warm glow of a rear-projection TV. "Honey! Come here! Do you see this? Sir! Sir! Can I... can I get this on MY television??"

"Yes. You can."

So someone asked one of my coworkers. And he tried not to laugh as he told him where to find it. After he walks away, I make a big show to another coworker. "Sir! Sir, what IS that on the televisions? Could I... could I, of all people, display that in MY home?" And all the while, the customer, Animusic in hand, was standing behind me, watching.

He has yet to file a complaint, though I wouldn't blame him.
