When I was about fourteen, my aunt took me, my sister (9), and her son Jim (8) to McDonald's on most friday afternoons. Jim was, and remains, a total clown, and we had many laughs, but one afternoon was the best:
We had finished our meal, and Jim had run out to play on the playground. Glancing out the window, I saw about a dozen boys from the local high school coming towards the entrance, and I was discreetly checking them out.
Jim saw them coming too, and was under the impression that I may not have, and rushed inside to tell me.
Just as the boys walked over the threshold, Jim arrived at our table, panting, and said far too loudly, 'Millie, I came as soon as I could!' (he exaggeratedly pointed towards the entrance) 'BOYS!'
I might have been mortified if I wasn't laughing so hard.
